FFV to mediate with LVSL

THE newly formed Latrobe Valley Soccer League will meet with Football Federation Victoria on Wednesday for mediation over the organisation’s proposed split from the Gippsland Soccer League.

The Express understands the movement now has the backing off all 13 GSL central division clubs, with Sale United, East Gippsland United and Monash joining the LVSL originally instigated by 10 clubs.

FFV has previously stated it did not support a split from the GSL in a memo from chief Peter Gome.

However, the LVSL appears united and committed in its move to establish a breakaway franchise following a fallout with existing GSL governance.
