MORWELL Pegasus has opened up a gap on the state league south east division one relegation zone following its third win of the season at the weekend.
The Horsemen clawed to a 3-2 victory on the road to Berwick City to move five points clear of the 11th-placed club, and seven above bottom side Mooroolbark SC, at the halfway mark of the fixture.
First half goals to Dragan Milesevic (22nd minute) and Chris Wynne (30th) gave Morwell the ascendancy in the form of a 2-0 lead at the break.
The host came back in the second with goals to Stephen Vernon and Orlando Mejias, but Milesevic completed his brace on 68 minutes to ensure Pegasus claimed all three points.
Pegasus next faces fourth-placed Casey Comets this weekend in a second consecutive road trip.
Warragul United enjoyed a 3-0 victory over Mooroolbark to keep the cellar dweller in the basement.
