Community College Gippsland has grown its community Board of Directors from eight to 10 to increase its diversity of skills and knowledge in overseeing development of the not-for-profit adult education and training provider.
The Board has welcomed Marianne Shearer and Jemma Swan.
Community College Gippsland chief executive Sue Geals said Board roles were all voluntary with members providing personal time and energy to progress CCG’s activities in the community.
CCG operates five campuses at Warragul, Pakenham and Leongatha delivering programs in community services, rural studies, equine, business, hair and beauty, general education and VCAL, as well as short courses and workplace training.
IT is time to recognise the achievements, hours of service and outstanding contributions of the Valley’s older residents with nominations for Latrobe City Council’s ‘Senior Citizen of the Year’ now open.
Council has opened nominations earlier than usual this year to allow a decision to be made before the councillor elections are held in October.
“While nominees will remind us they don’t do it for the accolades,” Latrobe City mayor Michael Rossiter said.
“It’s nice to let them know how much we appreciate the time and effort they spend contributing to our community.”
Nominations must be returned by Friday, 29 July.
The winner will be announced at a special ceremony during Seniors Week, to be held from 2 to 9 October.
