Red Devils too much for Wolves

Moe has lived up to its champion tag with a late come from behind win away in their final game against Monash on Sunday.

The Red Devils travelled to Monash a week after winning the league with a 6-0 victory over Fortuna.

The Wolves, without talismanic goal scorer Ty Christy, found themselves in front in the eighth minute thanks to the efforts of Ethan Lawrence.

Monash held its lead until midway into the second half when Matt Shearing found the back of the net with one of his own. Twenty minutes from the end of play Brendan Ruddell struck back to put the Wolves in front, before Ty Georgiou managed to equalise.

The Red Devils were awarded a penalty in the 89th minute, with Joel Baldwin scoring from the spot to give the league champions a 3-2 victory.

In other games Tyers Lightning defeated Churchill United 4-3, Newborough Yallourn United defeated Sale 2-0, while Fortuna won 3-1 against Traralgon City.
