The Country Fire Authority’s controversial enterprise bargaining agreement will be put to a vote of career firefighters after a lengthy legal dispute.
The Volunteer Firefighter Brigades Victoria on Tuesday withdrew its Supreme Court action against the CFA.
The EBA will now go to career firefighters for a vote, and if a majority of the workforce agrees, it will go to the Fair Work Commission for approval.
A significant investment will be made in Moe with a firm controlled by Melbourne’s Henkell family set to pay Charter Hall about $12 million for a 2.5 hectare retail district in the town.
The asset was fully leased to Kmart Australia Limited until 2028 and returned an annual rent of about $800,000.
The site at the corner of Saviges and Albert Streets – between the Moe Racing Club and Coles, includes a 6298 square metre showroom and about 500 car parking spaces.
It received a refurbishment after Kmart committed to the lease.
The commercial 1 zoned property had a book value of $10.6 million in Charter Hall’s 2015 annual report, based on a 7.25 per cent yield.
