An innovative composting system to be built in Morwell, will halve the amount of time to create green waste, as well as divert nearly 15,000 tonnes of food from municipal landfill.
Pinegro was awarded a half-million dollar Victorian Government grant towards building the state-of-the-art technology that will enable the plant to nearly double its processing capacity.
Pinegro was one of 13 projects across the state to receive a share in the $4.2 million Resource Recovery Infrastructure Fund.
Environment Minister Lily D’Ambrosio was on site on Thursday, checking out the Morwell plant as part of the funding announcement.
