Round 20 review
Falcons claimed the League Championship for the second successive year with a 5-0 victory over Olympians.
It was a clean sweep for Falcons with Sam Amaira scoring a brace and Jamie Pistrin, Jesse Kennedy and Tom D’Alia all notching up goals.
Trafalgar v Fortuna
Following their 1-1 draw in the first round, Trafalgar ensured they would finish on a high note with a win against Fortuna, 3-2.
The home side scored first through Nathaniel Paredes at 40 minutes and doubled up after half-time when Monty Coots beat the keeper.
Fortuna forced one back from Brandon Scott five minutes later.
Trafalgar were playing possession football, holding back the ball and were rewarded at 87 minutes when Josh Paredes posted their third goal.
Fortuna clawed one back from Nelson Tombra during injury time but it was too late as Trafalgar hung on for victory.
Traralgon City v Churchill
Traralgon City notched a massive 5-0 victory over Churchill at the weekend.
City were on the board after three minutes when Jake Budija scored his first then DJ Matar got in on the action with a fine shot to score at 17 minutes.
Budija scored his second before the break. After the break City consolidated to add further goals to Budija for a hat-trick and Liam Johnson finished the rout with a goal at 81 minutes.
Monash v Newborough/Yallourn
Monash recorded a 3-2 win over Newborough/Yallourn in round 20.
In a frenzy of goals at 19 minutes, three were scored within three minutes.
Monash was 2-1 up at half-time.
Monash got a run on and Chris Oulton finished with the Wolves’s third goal at 63 minutes.
NYU gained their second goal in injury time through Tim Shaw but it came too late as Monash retained bragging rights to win 3-2.
Moe v East Gippsland
Moe had their best win for the season with a 7-0 victory over East Gippsland.
LVSL women
Traralgon City amassed a huge score to dispose of Churchill, 12-0.
Falcons had a comfortable win over Olympians, 3-0, while second and third Trafalgar and Fortuna fought out a thrilling 1-1 draw.
Monash and NYU also drew 1-1.
Pegasus women south league three south
Pegasus had a convincing win over Monash University Blue with a 6-3 result.
Pegasus women south league four south
Pegasus found the Elwood City team too strong and went down 0-3.
