SOME 1832 homes in Churchill were affected in a power outage today after a tree reportedly came down across power lines on Manning Drive, near McLean Avenue, just after noon.
According to SP Ausnet corporate relations spokesperson Lyell Johnson, as at 2.50pm Friday, only 128 customers still had no electricity.
“Crews are still out there; the bulk of customers had their power back in a short time after some redirection of power supply,” Mr Johnson said.
“We are expecting the issue to be fully resolved in the next two to three hours.”
Mr Johnson said with the way things were, SP Ausnet was able to quickly reroute power around outages, with most customers getting power back on fairly quickly.
