Worksafe investigators are yet to release details regarding a serious accident at Hazelwood Power Station last week, when a maintenance worker suffered head and back injuries in a two-and-a-half metre fall.
The man in his 40s was stabilised and airlifted to Alfred Hospital after a call out at 2.14pm on Wednesday, where he remains in a stable condition.
The worker, from Hazelwood’s major maintenance contractor Fluor, is believed to have been spotting a maintenance task on a station boiler when the accident occured.
A Fluor Global Services spokesperson said the man fell onto a grid matt floor during routine activities, and the company was continuing to support the worker, his family, and his workmates.
