Two killed in horror crash

Police are investigating the cause of a horror crash at Rosedale on Friday which claimed the life of a 45 year-old woman and young girl from the Northern Territory.

An 11 year-old child this morning remained in a critical condition in the Royal Children’s Hospital.

A four-year-old sustained minor injuries, while a man aged in his 40s and the driver of another vehicle, a 20 year-old Denison man, were airlifted to The Alfred on Friday in a critical condition.

According to police, the two vehicles collided head on while travelling on the Princes Highway near Cricket Street, just before 2.30pm.

Road Policing Command Assistant Commissioner Bob Hill spoke out in sadness after hearing of the incident.

“This really brings it home, this is not about figures, its about the impact that incidents like this have on families and the community,” he said.

Vehicle theft ends in crash

A Moe man involved in a head on collision with a truck near Yallourn North on Saturday morning has been charged with motor vehicle theft.

The man was transferred to Latrobe Regional Hospital with minor injuries after the stolen Falcon XR6 veered into the incoming lane, colliding with a power industry truck on Eastern Road about 8.20am.

The man was due to face court this morning, for charges relating to the alleged car theft from a Trafalgar property earlier last week.

Car stolen in Morwell

A 1993 white Holden Commodore was reported stolen from a property on Gabo Way, Morwell yesterday afternoon.

Police have warned residents with older cars without smart lock technology to consider using secondary locking devices.
