Roads across the Latrobe Valley, including Kay Street, Traralgon (pictured) and Main Street, Yinnar, have been adversely affected by hot weather.
Bituminous surfaces have melted in the extreme heat in the past couple of days.
Latrobe City Council worked to identify the affected areas yesterday and added crushed rock to road surfaces.
Signage was also put in place to encourage motorists to drive to the conditions of the road.
