Mano, there are no words to describe
the loss I feel today.
You were the eldest, and I was the baby of the family. I can’t imagine how hard it was to come to a new country as a child and start a new life. Mum and Dad always looked to you for guidance, and when we lost Dad, you stepped in and
led us through the hardest time of our lives.
You were there for my best moments and my hardest ones.
I always knew I could count these words —
“It’s ok, sis. I’ll do whatever I can.”
I will always treasure our memories growing up on the farm: calling down to the shed that lunch was ready, sitting around the kitchen table talking about
everything and nothing.
As my children grew, you were part of every
celebration, helping create traditions that made our
lives richer and kept our heritage alive.
They were so lucky to grow up with you so present in their lives.
Mano, our heart aches that we can’t see your
smile, hear you sing, or watch you dance around the room.
My children and grand-children have lost an incredible uncle
and we have lost an incredible brother.
Nella, Vince, Karla, Aaron, Illana, Evie and Lily.
