TRIBUTES have continued to flow in for Harry Wright, who was found dead in his Morwell home following a home invasion on the evening of Thursday, January 30.
Family and friends are known to have gathered for a private function at the Morwell Bowling Club on Monday, February 10, following his funeral.
Mr Wright volunteered at the Morwell Bowling Club for more than 25 years.
“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the board of directors, staff, and members of the Morwell Bowling Club regret the sudden passing of long-term member Harry Wright,” the Morwell Bowling Club wrote.
“Harry was a gentle soul, who volunteered at the club for over 25 years.
“Despite the tragic way his life ended, he would want everyone to celebrate his life, just like he did. This gives us the opportunity to reflect on the fabulous person we were lucky enough to know and work beside.”
Tributes have flowed in the comments of both the Express’ and Morwell Bowling Club’s online posts:
RIP Harry. My condolences to Kerry, Teena, and family. My thoughts have been with you since the passing. Harry was always a pleasure to work with and will be greatly missed by all.

Our condolences to Kerry, family, and friends. We had a wonderful game of pennant against the team Harry was in as lead only a week ago. We are all shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. On that day we were all commenting about how well he was still bowling, his good sense of humour, and his knowledge of life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Warm regards, Neerim District bowlers.

RIP Harry and sincere condolences to your extended family. Taken too soon in tragic circumstances and robbed of the enjoyment you were anticipated with your cruise. May your soul be reunited with Diana and Martin forever more in the peace of them hereafter.

Ohh how I have so many happy memories of you Harry, these I will treasure forever. Times in the cake shop, you introducing me to pork pies… then when mum and I went to the UK first thing I had to have was a pork pie. Thanks Harry. Love ya heaps for everything.
