THE Mirboo North community will open its gates this weekend (November 8-9) for the open gardens and garage sale trail.

The weekend is set to be a celebration of spring, sustainability and small-town spirit.

Hosted by the Mirboo North Lions Club, together with Mirboo North Garden Centre & Garden Supplies, 12 beautiful private gardens across Mirboo North, Mirboo, Darlimurla and Allambee will open to the public.

From lush cottage gardens to expansive rural landscapes, visitors can wander through a colourful array of gardens brimming with creativity and character.

Maps detailing all locations will be available for purchase from Mirboo North Garden Centre & Garden Supplies on the weekend.

Two of the open gardens will also serve Devonshire tea and a sausage sizzle, offering the perfect spot to rest, refresh and enjoy the view

“Make a day of it or take the whole weekend and visit one garden or visit them all – the choice is yours,” organiser Paula Calafior said.

Adding to the fun, the garage sale trail will also be running across Mirboo North on the same weekend (and the following one), bringing Australia’s biggest second-hand treasure hunt to the hills.

With more than a dozen local garage sales expected, visitors can browse everything from books and tools to furniture, homewares and collectables, while enjoying springtime in Mirboo North.

The garage sale trail is a nationwide celebration of reuse, connecting communities and helping millions of pre-loved items find new homes.
