Trafalgar’s McGregor Park will be revitalised thanks to $400,000 in funding from the State Government and Baw Baw Shire.
The works will see new drainage, playground equipment, seating, a barbecue shelter, fencing, and garden beds constructed.
Mayor Murray Cook said the $400,000 would pay for the first stages of the park’s master plan, with stages four and five yet to be funded.
“It will improve the livability of the town by improving the aesthetics of the park and its surrounding environment,” Cr Cook said.
Baw Baw Shire committed $100,000 to the project, adding to $300,000 from the State Government’s Putting Local’s First Improved Local Infrastructure 2011- 2015 initiative under the Regional Growth Fund.
Cr Cook said work would begin in February and was expected to be completed by February 2015.
