A COMMITTAL hearing date has been set for a man accused of causing a crash in Rosedale in 2013 which killed a mother and daughter and left three others seriously injured, including himself.
Stephen Borg of Denison has been charged with culpable driving causing the death of Teresa Anne Sinclair and Mikayla Hutchings.
He is also accused of driving a motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public causing the death of Teresa Anne Sinclair, driving a motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public causing the death of Mikayla Hutchings, negligent driving causing serious injury to Robert John Hutchings, negligent driving causing serious injury to Andrew Hutchings, and driving a motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public causing serious injury to Andrew Hutchings.
Borg has also been charged with dangerous driving, careless driving and failing to keep left, allegedly causing a collision and placing people in danger of death.
On November 22, 2013, the Hutchings family was travelling from Sale to Melbourne to visit Teresa’s family when their vehicle and a car driven by Borg collided.
Mikayla died at the scene.
Teresa was treated by paramedics on the roadside to no avail and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Robert and Andrew were flown to Melbourne hospitals, both in critical conditions, while four year-old Matthew, escaped unharmed.
Borg was also airlifted to Melbourne in a critical condition.
Borg’s committal hearing will take place on October 14.
