The Victorian Certificate of Education exams officially kicked off yesterday.
Latrobe Valley senior students joined more than 43,000 VCE students who sat the English exam across the state, the first of the year.
Education Minister James Merlino said more than 84,000 students would sit their final exams over the next month, marking the end of their secondary schooling.
Mr Merlino wished students all the best in their VCE exams, and highlighted the need for family support during the stressful period.
“VCE exams can be a very stressful time for many students and it’s important they talk to friends, family and teachers about any concerns they may have,” Mr Merlino said.
“I encourage students to do their very best, but never lose sight of the bigger picture – there is life after year 12 and there are many roads to future careers and further study.”
