Join the assembly

The call is out for locals wanting to help shape the region’s future as part of the Latrobe Health Assembly.

The assembly, a key recommendation from the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry, will bring together about 40 members of community, health care and government backgrounds to identify and develop improvements to the Valley’s health and wellbeing.

Assembly chair Professor John Catford said expressions of interest were now open.

He said a variety of people from all backgrounds was sought.

“If you have links to community or interest groups, are part of local business, industry or education, have a diverse ethnic or cultural background, or work, live or study in any of the towns from across the Valley, then we want to hear from you,” Professor Catford said.

“It will also be important to have a strong connection to the Latrobe Valley and be able to engage with your community.”

Expressions of interest for the assembly and more information about its role can be found at getonboard.vic.gov.au/register

For more information or for assistance with the application process, email Latrobe Health Assembly executive officer Daniel Mainville at latrobehealthtaskforce@lhiz.org.au or phone 5134 5971.
