As fears of a coronavirus pandemic spread, supermarkets across the Latrobe Valley are fast selling out of toilet paper.
People nation-wide have been panic-buying the dunny rolls, fearing a prospective spread of the virus could see shelves cleared of basic sanitary items.
Woolworths Traralgon said it had extra pellets of the product delivered this morning but were stripped of supplies by lunchtime.
Coles Morwell had only a few packets left around midday today.
Earlier, Woolworths applied a quantity limit on toilet paper across all stores, to “ensure more customers have access to the products”.
“The purchase limit of four packs per customer transaction applies in-store and online. It will help shore up stock levels as suppliers ramp up local production and deliveries in response to higher than usual demand,” it said.
“The vast majority of the products in our range remain available for our customers as normal.”
