A Latrobe City Council staff member from the Moe Early Learning Centre has tested positive to COVID-19.
The Department of Health and Human Services this morning confirmed the positive test.
The Latrobe City Council said since being advised of the positive test on Sunday, management have contacted families and staff who access and work at the centre.
“Following advice from DHHS the service will be closed to all children and staff from tomorrow, Monday August 3,” the statement read.
“The closure will allow appropriate deep cleaning to occur on the recommendation of DHHS. At this stage, it is anticipated that the service will be closed this week.
“We understand and acknowledge that this is a time of heightened anxiety for us all. We are committed to ensuring families and staff, who access the centre, receive further information and updates as we receive them.
“Our thoughts are with our staff member, who we wish a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming them back to the service once they’ve recovered.”
