Hazelwood demolition contractors have delayed the planned collapse of the former power station’s last remaining boiler house until mid-next week due to unfavourable weather conditions.
Delta Group had aimed to demolish Hazelwood boiler house 1 late this week, but has instead pencilled in between Tuesday and Thursday next week.
“Daily weather reviews will continue, with further information provided as soon as possible,” an ENGIE Hazelwood spokesman said.
“As with previous explosive controlled collapse events, the day and time of the boiler house 1 demolition remains subject to favourable weather conditions.”
