Smaller service

MORWELL RSL Sub-Branch president Wayne Hutchinson said this year’s Remembrance Day commemoration will be a small service.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the service will be held inside this year to ensure the RSL can monitor COVIDSafe measures.

There is a limited number of people invited to ensure veterans are able to pay their respects.

About 120 people will be in attendance.

Other groups in attendance will be community members, including captains from local schools.

Wreaths will be able to be laid inside, and after the service concludes will be moved outside.

Guests should be assembled by 10.45am prior to the service commencing.

Afterwards, attendees will be invited to remain for coffee and tea after the service.

This comes after uncertainty of restrictions in the lead up to the event.
