THE Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is coming to Traralgon in May to run school
and community workshops as part of a regional tour funded by the state government.
The MSO will be heading to the Valley ahead of performing in Warragul in July and December.
The tour includes concerts, free pre-concert lectures, schools and community workshops and rehearsals with community choirs.
The visit comes courtesy of a Touring Victoria grant to help take professional productions, performances, exhibitions and programs to regional and outer-metropolitan Victoria.
Other local recipients include the kickstART year-long community focused program of
performances in Stratford.
Creative Industries Minister Danny Pearson said it was “fantastic to see so many wonderful arts events and cultural performances being presented at locations right across the state”.
“These programs ensure more Victorians can enjoy great productions in venues large and
small, and they bolster creative workers who deliver so much for their communities,” Mr
Pearson said.
