RESIDENTS of a house on Papyrus Street in Morwell discovered their mailbox had
exploded on Thursday, March 10 after hearing an explosion outside their home
Police were called to the scene, where it was discovered an aerosol had been lit on fire and
placed the stainless steel mailbox between 12am and 6am.
Shrapnel from the explosion was discovered up to five metres away from the letterbox.
No one was injured and the incident is still under investigation.

Grassfire at Edward Hunter Reserve
EMERGENCY services were alerted to a grassfire at Edward Hunter Reserve in Moe
on the evening of Saturday, March 12 between 8pm and 8.30pm.
The grassfire was located at the base of a large tree in the reserve, directly behind a
residential property on Staff St, and measured approximately 15 metres by five meters.
Grass and small foliage was burnt.
The Country Fire Authority attended the scene and extinguished the blaze.
The fire is still under investigation and is believed to have been deliberately lit.
