THE notorious Lloyd Street, Moe intersection saw another incident last week.

A hotspot for shot-stacking, this time, the boom gates on the Lloyd St side were damaged on Tuesday, August 11.

Police and V/Line crews were quickly on the scene. The intersection was closed while V/Line staff worked to repair the boom gate.

Traffic was diverted down Waterloo Road on that side of the tracks.

The Lloyd St boom gate area was roped off with police tape.

Victoria Police confirmed officers responded after a vehicle collided with the boom gate.

“No one was injured. A penalty notice was issued to the 78-year-old driver,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

Traralgon line services were temporarily stopped, with one train cancelled so V/Line crews could attend and assess the damage to the boom gate.

The all-clear was given for trains to travel through the level crossing shortly after repairs were completed.

One train moved through the level crossing at considerably low speed while repairs were taking place.

“Our crews worked quickly and safely to get trains back up and running after a boom was damaged at a level crossing at Moe,” a V/Line spokesperson said.

“Motorists are reminded to always obey the warning signs and take care around level crossings.”
