RESIDENTS are invited to enjoy free live music at Latrobe City libraries as part of the Live at the Libraries program, running from October to December 2026.

The series of family-friendly performances celebrates local Gippsland talent and brings communities together through music in a welcoming library setting.

No bookings are required; visitors can simply drop in and enjoy the performances.

Latrobe City Mayor, Sharon Gibson said the program was a great way to showcase local musicians while encouraging people to visit their local libraries.

“Live at the Libraries combines two wonderful things – great local talent and our valued library spaces,” the mayor said.

“These free performances provide an opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy live music with others and experience something different at their local library.”

The program includes:

Saturday, November 21 at Traralgon Library, 9am to 12noon, featuring Simply Classical, and;

Saturday, December 19 at Moe Library, 9am to 12noon, featuring Vivace String Quartet (Christmas Edition).

Simply Classical is a Gippsland-based ensemble of string and wind musicians known for performing at community events, galleries and functions across the region. Vivace String Quartet is a local group recognised for its blend of classical favourites, contemporary pieces and festive performances.

The free performances support local artists, activate library spaces and provide an enjoyable experience for all ages.
