Newborough Yallourn United Soccer Club has appointed Tim Armistead as senior coach ahead of the 2013 Gippsland Soccer League season.
Armistead will be joined by club stalwart John McQuade who takes the reins in the emerging youth division.
Armistead’s first session in charge will be on Sunday as preseason training kicks off in earnest at Burrage Reserve starting at 4.30pm.
This session will be followed by a barbecue at the club with all past and present players encouraged to bring their runners and attend.
Dates for practice matches against Glen Waverley will be announced shortly with the annual Kendall Cup hosted by Sale City Football Club also part of the preseason calendar.
Kim Anderson will oversee women’s preseason training with Steve Baldacchino set to lend a hand as the team attempts to go one step further than its semi-final appearance last season.

Preparations for the junior season are also in full swing with junior signup set for Tuesday, 19 February at the clubrooms with training set to begin on Thursday, 21 February.

Off the pitch the club has organised a working bee at Burrage Reserve for Sunday beginning at 10am. Any club members that can spare some time and help out will be most welcome.
