LAVALLA Catholic College students got a chance to cool off in Monday’s 37 degree heat at the St Pauls campus swimming carnival at the Traralgon pool.
Organiser Nikki Schroeter said about 300 students competed in a variety of races; from the traditional freestyle and breaststroke to novelty events including boogie board and life vest relays.
Red house team MacKillop took out the carnival on 2345 points with Champagnat not far behind on 2189 and Nagle and Delany following on 1967 and 1685 respectively.
“It was a fantastic day and a success, with students getting out of the heat,” Ms Schroeter said.
Age group champions for 13 years old were Caitlin Mihaly and Harrison Law; 14 years Nicholas Calla and Kaylee Beecroft; 15 years Erin Roberts and Jack Law.
