Burgiel settles at the kennels

SEVEN time Maffra premiership player and Gippsland League interleague coach Hayden Burgiel has been appointed as senior coach at North Gippsland Football Netball League club Sale City for 2014.

Burgiel won two club best and fairest and two league best and fairest awards in the Gippsland League and departs the Eagles after 13 years.

“Hayden’s leadership and coaching ability is very impressive, added to the fact that he is still able to play exceptionally good football, he is a perfect fit for our club,” Sale City vice president Shane Bennett said.

Burgiel’s relocation follows brother Adrian’s move away from the club to Moe. Maffra is set to announce its 2014 coaching staff imminently.
