Morris powers to the top

VERSATILE Gippsland Power star Ed Morris was named club best and fairest at Morwell RSL on Friday night.

The consistent midfielder finished with 63 votes ahead of Alex Carr (57), Josh Scott (56) and Aaron Heppell (55).

Power talent manager Peter Francis said the top age player, who this year filled the role of Carlton recruit Nick Graham, was a deserved winner.

“Really worthy winner, he played every game for the year and was always in our best players,” Francis said.

“He played through the midfield and up forward and had a magnificent season.

“This year he became one of our best defensive players who’s really good inside and out, hard as hard and a really worthy and popular winner.”

Liam Nash was issued the trainers and support staff award, most professional player went to Tom Muir and Scott McDougal shared the best club person award with Kate Mitchell.
