Traralgon T-Birds were poised to upset Churchill Blue Devils at home on Saturday night before a dismal fourth quarter derailed an otherwise dominant display.

After an evenly matched opening, Traralgon turned up the heat to lead 49-38 at half-time, before Churchill clawed the margin back to eight at the final change.

The Blue Devils rallied to stage a last term boilover, turning the tide with a 23-6 quarter to steal the points 78-69.

Frazar Brouns (21) and Jack White (15) were immense for the losing side, while Jesse Bowe (19) led the scoring for the visitor.

Traralgon bounced back on Sunday with a win over Sale; Paul Clough was the main contributor with 25 points and received ample support from Brouns (24) and White (18).

On the road to Bairnsdale, the Moe Meteors men could not contain Bullets beast Andrew Savige who compiled 35 points to dominate all scorers in his side’s 79-73 win.

Nick Sedley (17) and Jayden Van Dyk (16) kept Moe in touch but the Meteors were unable to recompense the deficit despite winning the final quarter 14-12.

Churchill was too good for Traralgon in the women’s draw as well, accounting for the T-Birds by 20 points.

Captain Tanarly Hood led the way with 19, including two three-pointers.

The Blue Devils rounded out a winning weekend with a win over Maffra.

Hood again ran rampant, churning out 34 individual points in a comprehensive individual performance.
