Chipping in for charity

LOCAL Country Fire Authority stations were the beneficiaries of $685 raised at GBS Recruitment’s annual corporate golf day this month.

More than 76 people representing about 25 Gippsland businesses took part in the event, which saw Johnson Health Tech emerge as the premier weekend golf warriors, ahead of AGL Loy Yang and combined team GippsAero and AsClear.

GBS Managing Director Juli Halton said the event was “getting bigger and better every year”, and lauded the charitable cause.

“With an uncertain summer season ahead, our thoughts are with the communities in fire risk areas,” she said.

“We wanted to do our bit to ensure that the CFA are well prepared for the coming season. They all do a fantastic job.”
