Jumpstart for TDCA juniors

The TDCA Juniors started last week with the boys and girls all playing great cricket.

Six teams took to the fields in the under 16s where quality was at a premium.

BATTING first Gormandale made 2/133.

Nathan Heard top scored with 83 not out, while Isaac Brown made 15 not out.

In reply, Traralgon West batted out their overs to be 2/69. The best bowler for Gormandale was Heard with 2/10, completing a magnificent all round day.

Rovers strung together a strong total of 3/128.

Best bats were Hayden Willaton 37, Ewan Williams 28, Josh Meyer 24* and Anton Sbaglia 21*. Imperials made a fist of the chase to finish with 3/114. Ryan Morley top scored with 62 after claiming 2/25 with the ball.

Connor Turnbull compiled 15 and Keira Morley made 17.

Centrals made a middling 6/87 batting first against Churchill.

Imperials batted first and made 94.

In reply, CATS cruised past the target, scoring 1/96 with Nathan Harrup amassing 47*.

Gormandale batted first and made 5/58.

Top scorers were Isaac Brown and Max Conway with 15 runs each.

Best bowlers for the West were Alvin John 2/8, Olly Turnbull 1/14 and Cam Peavey 1/10.

Traralgon West made 20 runs in reply.

The star bowler for Gormandale was Annie Little, taking 3/6,while Jaxon Membrey 2/6, Max Conway 2/3 and Isaac Brown 2/0 bowled well.

Glengarry made the running with the bat, closing on 2/107.

Liam Little top scored with 40 not out, Colby Schmidt retired for 15, Colby Morley retired with 16 and Peter Strong managed 23 not out.

In reply, Rovers made 9/57 with Jake Cashmore 11 and Tyron Bramwell 12 not out.

Best bowler for Glengarry was Rico Faurie with 3/10.
