THE Gippsland Gladiators kick off their 2016 Gridiron Victoria division two season on Saturday against Ballarat Falcons in Reservoir.
A long pre-season, which began back in February, combined with a strong list and bolstered coaching roster has the side steeled for a big year of American football.
Coached by Don Veale, the Gladiators will be looking to return to their championship form of 2014 after rebuilding last season with a basic game plan.
The Gladiators will host their first home game in week six of the competition when Melton Wolves come to town.
