Moe clinches vital points

MOE emerged victorious in its Latrobe Valley Soccer League senior women’s match against Falcons 2000, after Nicole Faltum added two goals to her tally in a blistering performance on Sunday.

The 2-0 victory leaves the Red Devils just one point behind fifth-placed Pegasus and sixth-placed East Gippsland United, each with 28 points.

Moe will be relishing the opportunity to overtake its rivals when it travels to Hazelwood South Reserve this weekend to take on bottom-placed Churchill.

Meanwhile, top-placed Traralgon City showed its class against Trafalgar Victory, blowing its rivals off the park in a 9-0 demolition at Traralgon’s HP Reserve.

Tyers downed Newborough-Yallourn 3-1 in its match at Burrage Reserve, setting up an interesting tussle at the top of the table heading into the end of the season

The Roosters lead the Lightning by one point at the top of the table.
