UNLIKE the previous week, Tuesday Pennant was played in wintry conditions and some games were not completed due to the rain and some finished early after significant rainfall.
DIVISION 1
MORWELL Club had a good win over Trafalgar.
Jan Karleusa and her team of Dashaa Martin, Michael Skinner and Gail Rejmer had a 27-19 win over Heather Taylor and her rink of Rena Spark, Frank Farrugia and Ian Miles.
Tess Borg and her rink of Jody Capp, Roger Rejmer and Bernie Kirkup had an 18-15 win over
Pat Tatterson and her rink of Barbara Evans, Tim Anderson and Darren Kane.
Mary Holdsworth and her team of Carol Saunders, Peter Watson and Ken Capper defeated Beryl Noblett and her team of Iyoko Yoshimura, Jo Leslie and Sue Karleusa 22-15 to give Trafalgar two points, but were unable to bridge the gap of four points.
Morwell Club 14-60 defeated Trafalgar 2-56.
TRARALGON welcomed Morwell and enjoyed full points. Pat Trewin and her rink of Elaine Swan, Garry Trewin, Matthew Higgins 18-16 defeated Rita Reddiex and her rink of Bill Tumney, Kerry Wright and Russell Williams.
Kathy Smiles and her rink of Chris Thomas, Rosemary Lorenz and Phil Mustoe won 27-18 over Shirley Skinner and her rink of Ross Harford, Judy Tumney andJohn Osborne. Paddy Francis and her rink of Bill Francis, Lyn Moffat and Barry Fernance had a 30-18 win over Glenda Thompson and her rink of Kevin Pigdon, Letti Mizzi and Wayne Bishop to complete the sweep.
Traralgon 16-75 defeated Morwell 0-52.
NEWBOROUGH travelled to Warragul. Fran Clark and her rink of Glenys Perkins, Barry Daley and Rod Lewis got the ball rolling for Newborough with a 28-25 win over Kerrie Currie and her rink of Alison Matthews, John Vickerman and Graeme Davis.
Jo-Anne Michaels and her rink of Ed and Mary Whelan together with Nosha Michaels had a 23-19 win over Janette Gallasch and her rink of Matt Draisma, Gladys Atkinson and Peter Gallasch.
Joan Goldie and her team of Robert Goldie, Jeff Wetzel and Julie Jackson drew with Linda McCoy and her rink of Margaret Keefe, Bob Currie and Paul Simmons.
Newborough 15-70 defeated Warragul 1-63.
DROUIN welcomed Traralgon RSL with Sheryl Atkinson and her rink of Ron Westrup, Elaine Thorpe and Mark Atkinson winning 29-10 over Elaine Muir and her rink of Paul Matters, Margaret Morley and Max Aumann.
Denise Hamilton and her rink of Graeme Aubrey, Jan Aubrey and Denis Throup won 29-13 over Margaret Gibbins and her rink of Bev Jacobs, Max Gibbins and Jeff Blythman.
Traralgon RSL won the other rink with Shirley McKenzie and her rink of John Farquhar, Julie
Sutcliffe and Titch Hore winning 16-14 over Maureen Leighton and her rink of John Leighton together with Mary and Les Firth.
Drouin 14-72 defeated Traralgon RSL 2-39.
DIVISION 2
MOE visited Morwell Club (2) and for the home team Cheryl Reynolds and her rink of Steve
Kilpatrick, Norma Tyrer and Nobby Noblett had a 23-15 win over Val Griffiths. Tara Harle had a 21-19 win over Lorraine Horton.
For the visitors Chris O’Reilly had a 20-16 win over Betty Burridge leaving Morwell Club (2) the winners by six shots.
Morwell Club (2) 14-60 defeated Moe 2-54.
TRARALGON (2) visited Morwell (2) and for the home team Palma McNeil and her rink of Ron Draeger together with Anne and John Kuhne had a 19-14 win over May Cross.
Julie Klein defeated Lyn Bloomfield 23-21 and for the visitors Dettie Wylie defeated Shirley Kolcze 20-17 leaving Morwell (2) the winners by four shots.
Morwell (2) 14-59 defeated Traralgon (2) 2-55.
ADRIENNE Birchall and her team of Ruth Verhagen, Chris Cunningham and Graeme Cocks
had a 27-13 win over Chris Wilkins and Carmel Goss defeated Gabrielle Draisma 23-12. Glynis Mitchell defeated Heather Mooney 20-17 to gain two points for Warragul (2).
Newborough (2) 14-67 defeated Warragul (2) 2-45.
COOKIE Halligan and her rink of Neville Cousins, John Rochford and Jim Schroeder defeated Margaret Owens 22-11, Karren Sheers defeated Gwen Price 23-15 and to complete the clean sweep for Neerim District Pat Fraser-Aurisch defeated Lyn Jeffrey 21-13.
Neerim District 16-66 defeated Drouin (2) 0-39.
DIVISION 3
YINNAR had two rinks up with Meredith Kennon defeating Carol Fox 22-8 and Jennie
Harris defeated Lyn Sephton 21-10 while the lone
winning Trafalgar (2) rink was skipper Margaret Moss, who defeated Hilarie Anstey 15-14.
Yinnar 14-57 defeated Trafalgar (2) 2-33.
MORWELL(3) had a good win over Traralgon (3) winning all three rinks. Jan Moody defeated Maureen Rooney 19-13, Sharlene Draeger defeated Steph Davidson 20-18 and to complete the sweep Jenny Duncan defeated Muriel Johnson 25-15.
Morwell (3) 16-64 defeated Traralgon (3) 0-46.
GARFIELD won two rinks with Sue Stanfield defeating Maureen McMillan 19-13 and Maureen Lamport defeating Maria Wans 24-19 having good wins while Pat Cole was the lone winning Drouin (3) skipper, defeating Lex Taylor 18-16.
Garfield 14-59 defeated Drouin (3) 2-50
NEWBOROUGH (3) consolidated second spot on the ladder with a big win over Warragul (3).
Winning Newborough skips were Joy Cadby 37-12, Marcia Evans 27-19 and Anne-Mary Ryan 20-16.
Newborough (3) 16-84 defeated Warragul (3) 0-47.
DIVISION 4
NEWBOROUGH (4) 10-53 defeated Traralgon RSL (2) 0-29, Trafalgar (2) 8-41 defeated Traralgon (4) 2-37, Yarragon 10-78 defeated Drouin (4) 0-19, Yinnar (2) 10-52 defeated Moe (2) 0-28, Morwell Club (3) 8-35 defeated Yallourn North 2-33.
Upsets the order of the day in Saturday pennant

A GOOD day for bowls with weather conditions conducive for playing good bowls.
Top teams Traralgon and Newborough were upset playing away from home at Drouin and Trafalgar respectively.
Traralgon RSL had a good win at Morwell Club and Warragul defeated Moe to escape the threat of relegation and conjure faint hopes of a finals berth. Moe needs to win both remaining matches to remain in Division 1.
DIVISION 1
NEWBOROUGH had three rinks up however Ian Miles and his Trafalgar rink of Daryl Horner,
Heather Taylor and Darren Kane had a massive win 32-15 over Kevin Lovett and his rink of Brian Carpenter, Tony Knipping and Craig Thornton.
For Newborough Alan Grubb defeated Paul Dawson 21-19, Tommy Lodge defeated Ken Capper 24-14 and Nosha Michaels defeated Nathan Fraser 25-24.
Trafalgar 12-89 defeated Newborough 6-85.
MATT Ferrari and his rink of Kirsty Van den Hoff, Kevin Enguell and Ian Kirkup suffered their first loss of the season as Mark Atkinson and his rink of David McIlfatrick, Clive Newman and John Leighton surged to a 33-10 victory. Other Drouin winners were Sheryl Atkinson who defeated Vin McIlwain 29-21 and Toby Wallace who defeated Phil Mustoe 29-13. The lone Traralgon winner was Jim Scullin defeating Samantha Atkinson 29-23.
Drouin 16-114 defeated Traralgon 2-73.
MATT Schreyer and his rink of David Alderman, Brian Kennedy and Noel Rubenstein had a 39-18 win over Jayde Leech to give Warragul a great start. Other Warragul winners were Graeme Davis who defeated Stuart Caines 21-20 and Andrew Glover defeated Sandy Caines 27-22. The lone Moe winner was Steve Pallot who defeated Dave Smith 26-19.
Warragul 16-106 defeated Moe 2-86.
TRARALGON RSL had a good win with Ross Sizeland and his rink of George Cargill, Ross McKenzie and Terry Hunter won 32-16 over David Stevens. Morice Gardiner won 22-20 over Brett Harle. For Morwell Club Glenn Trembath had a 21-16 win over Alan Kanavan and Rod Smith won 27-19 over Beau Williamson.
Traralgon RSL 14-89 defeated Morwell Club 4-84.
DIVISION 2
MORWELL had another big win over Traralgon RSL (2) with Nathan Cook and his rink of Bernie Detering, Abbas Mehran and Wayne Bishop defeating Jeff Blythman 33-15, David Cook defeated John Farquhar 31-15 and Gerry Van Duin defeated Max Gibbins 21-15.
The lone Traralgon RSL (2) winner was Ron Osler who defeated Ron Lyfield 27-23.
Morwell 18-108 defeated Traralgon RSL (2) 0-72.
LONGWARRY visited Thorpdale with Matt Eccles defeating Brendan Jennings 23-18, Russell White too strong for Ross Kennedy 24-17 and Adam Proctor edging out Scott Jennings 27-23.
The lone Thorpdale winner was Ben Powell, who defeated Ken Towt 31-23.
Longwarry 16-97 defeated Thorpdale 2-89.
TREVOR Kuhnell and his Neerim District rink of Karren Sheers, Tony Thornton and Pat Fraser-
Aurisch had a 41-13 win over John Wasiukiewicz to beat the combined Newborough skippers of Graeme Cocks who defeated Ray Watts 31-16, Gary Ingley defeated Angus McGillivray 35-25 and Joan Goldie defeated Peter Brooks 26-24.
Those results left Neerim District the winners by one shot.
Neerim District 12-106 defeated Newborough(2) 6-105.
DROUIN (2) travelled to Traralgon (2) and Cary Locke lead the clean sweep.
His rink of Nick Turnbull, Al Hegarty and Trevor James won 41-15 over Bruce Andrews.
In other results, Graham Cross defeated David Tayles 27-15, Barry Fernance defeated Brian
Thorpe 33-15 and Dave Currie defeated Col Jeffrey 27-12.
Traralgon (2) 18-128 defeated Drouin (2) 0-57.
DIVISION 3
GARFIELD welcomed Newborough (3) and Stephen Whyte and his team of Alan Wilson, Bob Lamport and Gary Helmore defeated Michael Holroyd 35-19.
Anthony Young defeated Rod Dixon 34-21 and for Newborough Jim Cuthbertson defeated Stephen Bassed 27-23 and Robbert Cook defeated Nick Henwood 23-20.
Garfield 14-112 defeated Newborough (3) 4-90.
WARRAGUL(3) with Ian Belling and his rink of Bruce Thompson, Margaret Ratcliffe and Gabrielle Draisma won 33-14 over Leigh Dodd.Bob Currie won 34-20 over Val Griffiths and
David Gatewood defeated Brian Rodgers 24-22 and Bill Clappers completed the sweep, defeating John Woods 26-14.

MORWELL (2) hosted Yinnar with Laurie Melhuish and his rink of Judy Tumney, Darrell White and John Osborne winning 32-11 over Trevor Berryman and Ken Turner defeated Tim Roche
42-23. For Yinnar, Murray De La Haye defeated Bob Skinner 27-23 and Gavin Osborne defeated Shashi Bhatti 23-19.
Morwell (2) 16-116 defeated Yinnar 2-84.
RON Baker and his Traralgon (4) rink of Robert Marsh, Bob Dykstra and Paddy Francis defeated Terry Parker 37-10, Brendon Smiles defeated Darren Napier 25-23 and May Cross defeated Stan Williams 23-18.
The lone winning Boolarra rink was Bob Allen, who defeated Bill Bishop 25-24.
Traralgon (3) 16-109 defeated Boolarra 2-76.
DIVISION 4
NEWBOROUGH (4) welcomed Trafalgar (2) and Peter Policha led the way with a 30-17 win over Tony Dawson and Albert Van Stekelenburg defeated Wayne Hurst 27-21. For the visitors, Mal Clymo defeated Charlie Cadby 33-26 and Bruce Giles defeated Maurie Ludlow 25-23.
Newborough (4) 14-106 defeated Trafalgar (2) 4-96.
WARRAGUL (3) visited Yarragon with Jason Roberts and his rink of Lindsay and Gordon Wright together with Murray Grigg defeating Roy Hammond 27-14, Jarrod Grigg defeating Lester Mason 32-22 and Sam Mazza defeating Keith Wilkins 29-21 with the lone winning Warragul team Bill Clarke, a 28-19 winner over Richard Polmear.
Yarragon 16-107 defeated Warragul (3) 2-85.

MOE (3) 16-97 had a big win over Traralgon (5) 0-47 with Chris O’Reilly winning 21-19, Bob Savige 29-13 and Tommy Thompson 29-15.
Neerim District (2) 1 4-68 defeated Garfield (2) 2-58 with winning skippers Jim Schroeder 27-15 and Mal Collins 31-14. Barry Johnson won 29-10 for Garfield (2).
Morwell (4) 14-97 defeated Traralgon RSL (3) 2-55 with Col Grant winning 38-15 and Julie Klein 36-15. Gordon Asbury won 25-23 to give Traralgon RSL (3) two points.
Morwell Club (2) 14-78 defeated Churchill 2-57 with Gail Rejmer winning 31-10 and Lisa Arnold 22-21. Chris Thomas 26-25 was the lone Churchill winner.
