TRARALGON hosted five of the finals with some excellent bowls played in front of an admiring crowd enjoying the sunshine and the good bowling.
The other final at Drouin was well-attended with competitive bowling on offer to conclude an exciting season in Division 3.
DIVISION 1
NEWBOROUGH made it three premierships in a row with a disciplined performance against a
Traralgon side which had won all three previous contests this season.
During the week Newborough made a major selection change with Ryan Marston replacing
Nosha Michaels as skipper and he relished the task taking his rink of Jo-Anne Michaels, Craig
Thornton and John Backman to a 39-12 victory over Jim Scullin and his rink of Ron Sherlock,
Maurie Sutcliffe and Pat Trewin.
Kevin Lovett and his rink of Brian Carpenter, Tony Knipping and George Lambos defeated Vince McIlwain and his team of Shane Chapman, Abe Roeder and Chris Ward 22-20.
For Traralgon, skipper Matt Ferrari and his rink of Kirsty Van Den Hoff, Kevin Enguell and Ian
Hilsley won 22-19 over Tommy Lodge and his rink of Barry Daley, Rod Lewis and Scott Jones.
Ian Kirkup and his rink of Chris Thomas, Bill Kirby and Damien Barnes won 29-22 over Alan
Grubb and his rink of Josh Kennedy, Bob Goldie and Nosha Michaels.
Newborough began very well and gradually built a solid lead until Traralgon fought back to get within three shots only for Grubb to win five shots on an end to stretch the lead once more as Newborough powered away.
Newborough will play Strzelecki South winner Leongatha at Newborough this Saturday with
the winner proceeding to the State Pennant Championships in Moama in May.

DIVISION 2
MORWELL was fired up in their attempt to return to Division 1 and raced away to a big lead early in the game before Longwarry fought back to only trail by two shots.
The match was a tense battle for many ends before Morwell nudged ahead with a few ends
to play.
Nathan Cook and his rink of Jim Turner, Abbas Mehran and Wayne Bishop got the ball rolling
for Morwell with a 26-19 win over Ken Towt and his rink of Glenn Pask, Mark Serong and Grant Pask.
Laurie Melhuish and his rink of Russell Williams, Keith Gadsby and Gerry Van Duin had a 28-17 win over Adam Proctor and his rink of Peter Lieshout, Ian Peterson and Ken White.
Longwarry had Matt Eccles and his rink of John McCarthy, Robert Proctor and Hank Metselaar
win 29-22 over David Cook and his rink of Bernie Detering, Alex Muirhead and Darren Cullen.
Russell White and his rink of Simon Counsel, Barry White and Jason Lieshout had a 24-20 win
over Ron Lyfield and his rink of Kevin Pigdon, Brian Kingsley and Chris Goldsbrough.
Morwell is looking forward to their return to Division 1 next season and aim to be competitive following this result.

DIVISION 3
ANTHONY Young and his rink of Graeme Burton, Alan White and Shane Oliver had a 27-14 win over Bob Currie and his rink of Bernie McIntosh, Norm Dickson and Peter Ellis.
Steve Bassed and his rink of Gary Payne, Les Pumphrey and Bob Lamport had a 23-13 win over Paul Simmons and his rink of Ian Belling, Gabrielle Draisma and Margaret Ratcliffe to set up the win for Garfield after Warragul (2) started the game very well with an early lead.
For Warragul (2), David Gatewood and his rink of John Bell, Brian Kennedy and Brent Grigg won 20-19 over Stephen Whyte and his rink of Alan Wilson, Joe Lenders and Gary Helmore.
Bill Clappers and his rink of Kerrie Currie, Russell Carrick and Jim Moyle defeated Nick Henwood and his rink of Frank Prins, Ron Saunders and Tom Cleary 27-19 leaving Garfield the winners by 14 shots and a return to Division 2.

DAVID Karsky and his rink of Maurie Harrison, Barry Roscholler and Ron Hales won 23-20 against Wayne Hurst and his rink of George Ward, Laurie Heenan and Heather Taylor.
Roger Davey and his rink of Tony Richardson, Ross Smith and Terry Lawrence defeated Bruce
Giles and his rink of Anthony Dalgleish, Ed Davies and Sue Robinson.
Ian Wills and his rink of George Miller, Brian Johnson and Anthony Reed won 25-20 over Tony
Dawson and his rink of Derek Jones, Peter Dart and Michael Manning.
For Trafalgar (2), Mal Clymo and his rink of Terry Robertson, Sean Tatterson and Peter Watson had a 27-16 win over Col Mayman and his rink of John Kong, Jim Overdyk and Gary Bassett leaving Traralgon (4) the winners by six shots.

DIVISION 5
BILL Brown and his team of Craig Flanigan, Paul Dodds and Vern Hargreaves gave Churchill a good start with a 27-22 win over Beryl Noblett and her rink of Dashaa Martin, Jesse Hebbard and Sue Karleusa.
Chris Thomas and his rink of Herb Kennedy, Helen Dyson and Tony Colwell won 28-16 over
Lisa Arnold and her rink of Mick Reynolds, Jody Capp and Jo Leslie.
For Morwell Club (2), Gail Rejmer and her rink of Geoff Unwin, Barry Flanigan and Andrew Shepley had a 27-15 win over Shirley Turner and her rink of Dianne Thomas, Gillian Turpin and Marion Newton leaving Churchill the winners by five shots and heading to Division 4 next year.

DIVISION 6
GREG Sephton and his rink of Graeme Ralls, Robert Connell and Margaret Moss had a 25-20 win over Betty Williams and her rink of Phil Zappelli, Frank Andrews and Bob Hall.
Anthony Mitchinson and his rink of Kyan Jenkins, Dennis McGrath and Billy Nesbitt had a 29-13 win over Joan Lee and her rink of Ray Mellon, Ron Carswell and Charlie Amos to give
Trafalgar (3) a well-deserved victory and a chance to go up to Division 5 next year.
