KARTING
By MARK WICKS
With their track closed for repairs, several drivers from the Oakleigh Go Kart Racing Club chose to compete in Morwell at the Gippsland Club’s March race day.
They competed in senior and junior classes and included former HQ and Production Car racer David Wood who enjoyed his first time at the Tramway Park circuit racing in the combined 125cc division.
For this twilight round, all categories enjoyed five races (one more than usual) with overall points earned determining placings on the day.
Three drivers dominated their class, winning every race; Jamie Rowe (Senior Light), Ryan Wyhoon (Junior Light) and Isabel Rowe (Junior Heavy).
Due to a date clash with the Australian Grand Prix, the club has elected not to run a race day in April.
Next event at Morwell is on Sunday, May 1.
