NINE wins from 10 games isn’t a bad effort.
Gippsland Power continued on their merry way with a 53-point thrashing of Murray Bushrangers, 12.15 (87) to 5.4 (34), at Highgate Recreation Reserve, Craigieburn.
Power limited their opponent’s output dramatically, which included holding a 66-9 lead at the end of the third quarter of the Round 13 clash last Saturday.
Keenan Boi was best afield with a four-goal masterpiece, followed by Moe trio Liam Masters, Max Woodall and Luke Cheffers, as well as Finn O’Brien and Sam Grummisch.
While Gippsland Power Boys have the bye this weekend, Power Girls play this Sunday (July 6) against Eastern Ranges at Tony Sheehan Oval, Bundoora, following a bye at the weekend.
ROUND 16 of the AFLsaw Gold Coast jump back on the winner’s list with victory over Melbourne, 15.14 (104) to 12.13 (85), at People First Stadium, Gold Coast.
The Suns Latrobe Valley contingent of Moe’s Bailey Humphrey (two goals, 12 disposals), Morwell’s Ben Ainsworth (two goals, 10 touches), and Moe and Fish Creek footballer Sam Flanders (28 disposals and five marks) all stood out.
Gold Coast now jump back into the top eight after falling out for the first time all season the previous round.
Hawthorn unloaded on North Melbourne, 23.12 (150) to 9.11 (65) at University of Tasmania Stadium.
Morwell’s Changkuoth Jiath had 15 disposals and four marks in the sizeable win.
