The Latrobe Valley Water Ski Club has played host to the world number one for ski jumping as part of a coaching session.
Jacinta Carrol trained the Christie Brothers from Berwick early last week.
Jack, 14, and Bailey, 12, have both been selected in a squad of eight skiers which will be reduced to a team of four to compete in the next under 17 world championships.
“Both boys have been skiing in the Australian under 14 teams which compete in an international tournament annually and have won multiple medals in the event,” Latrobe Valley Water Ski Club president Ray Smith said.
Jack is ranked number one in Australia for slalom and jump and number three for trick. Bailey is ranked number two for trick, slalom and jump.
Jack held the Australian and Victorian slalom record in sub juniors until Bailey rewrote the record books for the Australian slalom and broke the state record for tricks as well.
Currently Jack holds the Victorian state record for under 14 slalom and is only a whisker away from the national record.
He is also eyeing off the state jump and trick record.
Festive shoot at Rosedale
The Christmas shoot at Rosedale Rifle Range was contested over 700 yards on Saturday, 21 December in tricky, gusty conditions that caught all shooters at least twice during their shoot.
Scores were well below average for the annual social event.
Twenty three shooters attended, including Rod and Cheryle Dolman of the Victorian Rifle Association Executive.
The ‘one shot wonder’ at 1000 yards followed, which involves good judgement or just pure luck to get closest to the centre with one shot.
The presentation of the 2013- 2014 range trophy winners in the afternoon preceded the annual Christmas dinner presented by Master Chef Rae Houston and her team.
