St Michaels Primary School student and Combined Saints Junior Football Club player Joel Scholtes has been selected in the School Sport Victoria Team Vic 12 years and under boys Australian football team.
He will compete in the School Sport Australia Australian Football Championships to be held at Maroochydore, Queensland from 23 to 30 July.
“It has been a great performance by Joel following a selection process that began in March to make the final team of 23,” a spokesperson said.
The team comprises students from all over Victoria.
He competed in a series of competitions to gain selection in the School Sport Victoria state team.
Many past School Sport Victoria team members have gone onto compete in the AFL, AFL Under 16 and 18 National Championships, the Victorian Football League and the Under 18 TAC Cup.
