A Latrobe Valley dance school shook up the competition at the recent Albury Wodonga Eisteddfod.
Julie Ryan Dancers dominated the dance contest, placing in every section entered.
Dance school principal Melanie Currie said the students danced beautifully.
“The highlight was our trifecta, winning first, second and third in the 12 and under jazz section,” Melanie said.
Other eisteddfod awards of significance included Lara Mellon, Emily Chessum, Bonnie Callander and Maddi Tosch who won their respective age groups, along with Maddi winning most outstanding performer of the competition.
“The kids had an absolute ball; it was everything we hoped for and more,” Melanie said.
“Our dancers were exceptional.”
The Albury Wodonga Eisteddfod featured dancers from Albury, Wodonga, Greater Hume, Indigo Corowa, Towong, Alpine and Wangaratta, as well as performers from Gippsland, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.
