Monash opened the scoring 10 minutes in when Jesse Davis netted his first senior goal.

East Gippsland pulled level on the half hour, when Jaydon Steele took advantage of some Monash complacency.
It only took Monash three minutes to regain the lead when Ty Christy breached the offside trap to score.
The home side were reduced to 10 men before the break, when a Kai Howells challenge took Christy down as he looked to score.
Monash killed the game off in the second half, with Christy adding two more to complete his hat-trick while Tom Bramstedt and Ethan Lawrence were the other scorers.
In other matches, Falcons 2000 crushed Tyers Lighting 7-0, Churchill United defeated Traralgon Olympians 3-2, Traralgon City was victorious over Sale United 3-0, Moe defeated Fortuna ’60 6-0 to seal the league title and Newborough-Yallourn United defeated Pegasus 6-1. Trafalgar had the bye.
This weekend Fortuna hosts Traralgon City, while NYU travels to Godfrey Baldwin Reserve to take on Sale. Churchill United faces Tyers Lightning at Hazelwood South Reserve and Falcons will host Trafalgar Victory.
