A Traralgon-based business has landed a major Malaysian supply deal, which will see its baby food products distributed to 350 retail outlets.
The rollout of Baby Royale’s product range line in its newfound market is expected to commence this month, with first year sales estimated to reach $2 million, growing to an expected $20 million in five years.
Announcing the deal at the Victorian Food and Wine Product Showcase in Kuala Lumpur, State Premier Denis Napthine said the deal would create millions of dollars in regional Victoria.
Started up in 2009 by Valley resident and managing director Adam Moore, the business expanded to become an exporter of products to Europe, Middle East and Asia, and marketing as in line with Halal guidelines, is moving to expand its Asian presence.
However with its manufacturing facility based in Adelaide, it is unclear how many Gippsland-based jobs could be potentially created by the deal, with only two full-time staff currently manning its Traralgon head office.
Attempts to contact Mr Moore, who is currently in Malaysia, were unsuccessful before going to print.
