Ten nightclub revellers were locked up for being drunk in public over the weekend, after a street sweep operation in Traralgon.
Police targeted night club areas for public offences on Friday and Saturday nights in Traralgon and Moe, however Moe was “relatively quiet”.
The individuals were detained for four hours each, and released with infringement notices.
Man tasered following threat
POLICE were forced to use a taser on a 43 year-old man after he threatened to jump from the Princes Freeway pedestrian overpass at Newborough on Saturday night.
About 10.30pm police attended and tried to talk the man down, before using the taser, restraining him and confiscated his knife.
The man was admitted to Latrobe Regional Hospital.
Meanwhile in a separate incident, police were called to a Traralgon home on Saturday where a 34 year-old man armed with a knife was threatening suicide.
They subdued the man using capsicum spray after he came towards police.
He was also taken to Latrobe Regional Hospital.
Police question alleged sex offender
A Traralgon man has come forward to police after an appeal for information following a sexual assault in Traralgon last week.
Police interviewed the 30 year-old man on Saturday and released him pending further enquiries.
A 34 year-old St Kilda woman reported a sexual assault on Tuesday.
According to Victoria Police, she had met a man online through a dating website and arranged to see a movie.
They met in the foyer of the Morwell cinema about 12.30pm and left some time later in the man’s white utility.
The pair went to a caravan park along Airfield Road in Traralgon where the assault allegedly took place.
