A 74 year-old man has been airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital today after receiving serious head and facial injuries in a tractor accident in Tyers.
According to Ambulance Victoria, the man is believed to have been run over by his own tractor on an Old Maffra Road property.
It remains unclear whether the man fell from the tractor or was standing next to it when he was run over.
A Melbourne helicopter was dispatched to the scene and landed in a neighbouring paddock, after receiving a 10.25am callout.
The man is in a serious but stable condition.
