THIS Saturday (May 10), the soccer fraternity will say farewell to a treasured chapter in local history.

Falcons 2000 Soccer Club’s final home game at Falcons Park before its redevelopment marks not just the end of an era, but a celebration of everything that’s made this ground so special.

Founded in 1961 as Morwell Falcons, there is no other history like Falcons’ in Australia.

The club extends a warm invitation to all former players, volunteers, and supporters – especially those who played a part in building the award-winning stadium. Those efforts laid the foundation for what Falcons Park was to become when the club reached the height of the National Soccer League (now A-League).

From the official opening of the clubrooms in 1982, to the unveiling of the Don Di Fabrizio Grandstand in 1992, this stadium has seen it all – from grassroots to Provisional League, State League, National League, and even A-League matches.

The club will also be celebrating anniversaries of the historic league-winning teams of 1975 and 2015, as well as remembering the unforgettable 1995 NSL Final.

This night promises to bring back memories for every player, volunteer, and supporter who’s been part of the journey.

Falcons has enjoyed a decade of success with five Latrobe Valley Soccer League titles won during the past 10 years.

As this will be a special night, the club would like all the community to soak up the atmosphere, so there will be free entry for all.
