Students ready for next step

Year 12 students across Latrobe Valley celebrated the end of their secondary schooling with dress ups, activities and the releasing of balloons which signified their future hopes and dreams.

Lavalla Catholic College captain Mubtasim Murshed felt the unity of his year level would be a lasting memory of his time at the school.

“It’s been pretty good, we’re all getting into it, we’re all friends… we’re all happy with each other and all get along and it’s all fun and games for now,” Mubtasim said.

While making the most of their final official school times together, the students also had one eye on their upcoming Victorian Certificate of Education exams.

“It’s pretty good and it’s exciting to get it done with and onto exams and stuff, so we’re looking forward to that,” Mubtasim said.

Lavalla Kildare campus director Doug Doherty said the end of school brought a lot of mixed emotions.

“The students themselves, they really follow the Marist principles of family spirit, they work really hard together with each other and support each other,” Mr Doherty said.

“They’re a great bunch, we’ll be very sad to see them go. We wish them all the very best and hopefully they continue striving for their habits of excellence.”
