Homes found for rescued pets

An animal rescue charity has found homes for 10 pets after a successful adoption day recently.

Forever Friends Animal Rescue Latrobe Valley branch was able to find homes for seven cats and three dogs.

The Latrobe branch of charity is run by 12 volunteers who rescue animals from Latrobe City’s pound.

More than 25 carers foster the animals until appropriate homes are found.

FFAR Latrobe coordinator Melanie Palmer said the charity had found homes for 168 cats and dogs since the branch opened in February.

“We rescue several animals a week,” Ms Palmer said.

“We rescue animals facing euthanasia and help to find suitable matches for them and find them a forever home.”

There is an adoption fee which covers all the vet costs including vaccinations, desexing and microchipping.

The next adoption day will be held on Saturday, 22 September at Petstock Traralgon.
