Former McCormack Demby sites sold

THREE sites in Morwell’s industrial complex have been snapped up by local firms, after laying vacant for 18 months and failing to attract buyers in an initial sales attempt last year.

Savills senior industrial executive Keith Kooloos, who managed the 1 November auction, said the sites went to two local construction companies who would use the sites as machinery storage depots.

He said the sites sold “slightly under the expected price”, while two remaining sites, which were passed in, would remain on the market.

The sites, originally part of the State Electricity Commission Victoria’s maintenance depot, were formerly owned McCormack Demby Timber, who closed it doors last year.
